Krish Sports Foundation organized a Cancer Awareness Programme on 20th January’20 in Idol Building  of Mumbai University. The objective of the programme was to create awareness about the disease and to help people recognize the early symptoms of Cancer thus enabling them to seek treatment at an early stage.

To spread this awareness, we invited V- Care Cancer Foundation to give seminar about it. This foundation is a voluntary support group dedicated to providing free help, awareness and education to cancer patients and their families through outreach programs and services that improve the quality of their lives.

The seminar was scheduled in Mumbai University. They came with a team of 5 members, one of which was a cancer survivor. They said that it is the responsibility of society to raise awareness so that maladies like cancer can be eradicated. “Every step taken in the direction of raising awareness against cancer will lead to a major change in the society”, they added.

Athletes were educated about different types of cancer and precautions to be taken. They also stressed upon screening tests of cancer.

Athletes asked different questions and their queries were properly solved. Children were made very comfortable while asking the questions. The programme made cancer ‘less frightening and enlightening’ by engaging athletes with age appropriate, interactive and informative material.

Athletes understood the importance and promised that when they go back to their villages, they would spread this information and make their families aware about the disease. The foundation further said that the young generation may contribute to fight against this fatal disease of cancer.
