Sports are an integral part of human life and there is great importance of sports in all spheres of life. They are an excellent tool to keep the body physically fit. Taking part in Sports is important for children as it reduces stress and enhances their mood.
Keeping in view all of these benefits of sports, Krish Sports Foundation sponsored Sports Fest on January 13,2020 in the premises of UPG College, NMIMS. The founder of the organisation Mr Navin Shetty marked the occasion with his benign presence. He inaugurated the ceremony and told the audience about the importance of health and fitness. He said that it is very important to be physically and mentally healthy. You need to pay attention to your health and fitness if you want to live a healthy life. Regular exercise and physical activity promote the overall health of a person. While exercise is important undoubtedly, you will need to maintain a proper diet if you want to be healthy. He further said “In sports field, there is no sponsorship. It is a contribution by a sportsman to Sports.” He then briefed about the Sports Super 30.
Sports Super-30 is a programme that nurtures for free 30 students from underprivileged sections of society every year. He interacted with students and introduced them to Super-30 sports team. All the athletes of Sports Super-30 were called upon stage. There was a short interaction with these young budding talents. The audience was very much inspired and amused by their dedication and determination. They were especially moved by the story of Shakila (one of our young super-30 athletes) who battled her way to success with her undying passion. She is an example of how one can achieve greater heights inspite of limited resources. They all gave her a standing ovation.
After this inauguration programme and small interaction, our athletes participated in the college sports event with full zeal and enthusiasm. They participated in all the games and enjoyed a lot. There is no doubt that they were competitors of each other but today they were playing as one team and their efforts and team spirit could be clearly seen. After that, they took a small tour of NMIMS College campus and had a conversation with the college students. They were guided about different academic courses and career paths. It was really a splendid event involving mass student participation which provided real life experiences. The meet concluded with our founder Mr Navin Shetty illustrating our work and a vote of thanks
