Anil Pawara, 14 years old, is a student of ninth standard and a true example of courage and bravery. He is an inspiration for everyone who thinks of giving up on their dreams because of hardships in their lives. discipline He was born in village known as Samradevi. The route to his village is through mountains. He had to walk 5 kms everyday through mountains to reach his home.
His father is a farmer and mother- a housewife. His village lacks basic amenities like electricity and internet etc.
His family has a very basic background and earns hand-to-mouth. Everyday they get up and struggle in order to earn their livelihood.
Because of all these hardships in life, Anil’s parents decided to keep him in an ashram, 50 kms away from his village and close to nearby city- Shirpur, for his schooling.
It was a very hard decision to make but they agreed on it for the betterment of his future life. Anil used to visit his parents once in a year. As his parents made a great sacrifice for him, he did not let them down and pursued his interest in running. He participated in various schools and inter-school competitions.
One day, luck favoured him and Subhash Pawara, an athletics coach spotted this gem of talent while on his routinely coaching session for the athletes in the Ashram. He decided to adopt him and changed his schooling from ashram to a high-school in Shirpur. He kept Anil at his own home along with other 4-5 athletes and took proper care of his needs as well as started training him.
After seeing his ability, he was selected by our foundation in our 1st batch of Sports Super 30. He was then taken to Mumbai in order to facilitate him by providing better opportunities, trainings, workshops and equipments. He stayed with nine other athletes for a training program of fifteen days with it’s main aim of overall development of the children by organising various workshops on communication skills and career guidance.
He was also taken to watch India vs Australia T-20 match, and attend workshops on cancer awareness and for an Adidas run.
He secured Gold Medal in state championship in 400mtr event with the timing of 53 mins and also participated in a national level championship.
