Krish Sports Foundation is very versatile when it comes to interacting with various age groups. We have always been keen to understand the mindset of all age groups working together. Our aim is to provide such an environment where all individuals can learn new things from different perspectives altogether.
We have many people working with us from different age categories in our ventures. One such person is Mr. Jairam Sheety whose age is 70+ and yet is so full of energy that everyone is in awe of him. He has been into the field of sports all his life, is passionate about the same and is also the in-charge of our program- ‘Sports Super 30’. His life’s mantra that keeps him going is only one i.e. – “Age is just a number.”
He had been a part of marathons and various cycling events. He had once participated in a 10km run and he finished it in 1hour. It was then when he saw that spark in himself and decided to pursue this professionally. Since then he had taken part in innumerable marathons out of which some were even of 150kms. He even went in for a cycling event (200km) which was affiliated to France. That was the toughest event of his life as unlike other cyclists, he didn’t have a professional cycle or any gear kit. And even with all those hurdles, he was the only one who could complete it as others gave up in between. Not only that but he has taken part in similar other competitions many times and finished them as well. He is super proud of whatever he has done and tells us that the satisfaction of not giving up makes him feel contented.
He tells us stories from his young times where he used to be a captain of his Kho-Kho team, Kabaddi team and also, was a keen athlete.
He has also been a part of a Rotary club in Mumbai. He joined there as a member but due to his hard work he was promoted to the committee of board of directors’ right after his first year. He had the privilege of representing at a district level. He even was posted to the profile of Sergeant-at-Arms. It is the most respected designation and requires highly professional skills. And even though it seeks major responsibility and discipline, he wasn’t afraid to take the initiative. There have been many conferences with 2000 people or more that were all organized and hosted by him. He has undertaken many projects along with various water projects such like building check dams in tribal as well as rural areas. He has also been a part of NSS and various NGOS’.
For him, sports have always been his priority since school. He also appreciates his association with our foundation by claiming that it was one of the best opportunities in his life. When our Founder- Mr. Navin Shetty, approached him, he tells us that couldn’t deny this platform and opportunity.
